Exemption for German-Registered Models Over 30kg
Model aircraft with a maximum take-off mass over 30 kg that are registered in Germany and have passed the inspection required by the DMFV or the DAeC are exempt only from the requirement to notify the FOCA before flying in Switzerland (based on bilateral agreements between Switzerland and Germany), and only if: the operating permit is valid at the time of the flight; the pilot holds the valid operating permit and the required insurance certificate during flight operations and presents them on request; and before any flight the pilot liaises with the person in charge of the aviation event or the chair of the model aircraft club where the flight takes place. If these conditions are not met, the exemption does not apply and the applicable Swiss requirements must be complied with.
