About Drone Assistant

Answering a single practical question — may I fly here, at this height, with this aircraft, for this purpose — usually means reading across several disconnected places: the national aviation authority, national legislation, the EU/EASA framework where it applies, guidance material, authorisation and exemption procedures, and airspace or geographical-zone information published separately again.

Drone Assistant brings that authoritative material together into one structured system, so regulatory research is faster and easier than assembling it by hand each time.

It is a research and information product. It does not replace the relevant aviation authority, and it is not legal advice.

Drone Assistant is built and operated by Fly-by Guys Oy, under the Flyby Guys brand.

Flyby Guys works in the commercial drone industry and has practical experience of drone operations and the regulatory requirements that surround them. That operational background is why the product is built around official sources and traceable evidence rather than general web content.

Published regulatory material is broken down into structured requirements, each kept bound to the official text and source it came from. Different source roles are distinguished, so binding law is not presented as if it were guidance material, and guidance is not presented as if it were binding.

Sources are monitored on a schedule, and changes go through a controlled review process before anything published changes. Reviewed changes appear on What's changed.

Drone Assistant uses AI to help you navigate, retrieve, translate and explain regulatory information in plain language. The reliability of what you read does not come from the language model: it comes from the structured source-and-evidence system underneath it and from the controlled processes used to maintain that data.

An answer is a research aid, not a legal determination. Answers cite the official text they rely on so you can check it directly, and they say so when a source could not be evaluated or when information is missing.
