If you own or have the right to use a drone or other ultra-light flying device, you must register it with the government, unless your specific device is exempt under the law.

An owner or authorized user of an ultra-light flying device (초경량비행장치) must register (신고) the device's type, purpose, owner's name, and capability to collect personal and location data with the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, unless the device is exempted by Presidential Decree.

초경량비행장치를 소유하거나 사용할 수 있는 권리가 있는 자(이하 "초경량비행장치소유자등"이라 한다)는 초경량비행장치의 종류, 용도, 소유자의 성명, 제129조제4항에 따른 개인정보 및 개인위치정보의 수집 가능 여부 등을 국토교통부령으로 정하는 바에 따라 국토교통부장관에게 신고하여야 한다. 다만, 대통령령으로 정하는 초경량비행장치는 그러하지 아니하다.
