Pendant toute la durée du vol, le pilote à distance d'un aéromodèle : 1° maintient, en toute circonstance, un contact visuel direct avec son aéromodèle sans que la distance projetée au sol entre le pilote à distance et l'aéromodèle ne puisse excéder 400m, sauf disposition contraire dans l'autorisation d'exploitation ;
