Regulatory Compliance for Tethered Drones with Propulsion

Verified from official sources
BEK nr 527 af 20/05/2025Version 1Effective -Verified 23 August 2026

In plain language

If you fly a tethered drone that has its own propulsion system (like motors/propellers), you must follow all standard drone regulations (EU 2019/947, Danish Aviation Act, and local orders) just like a free-flying drone, no matter how light or heavy it is.

Requirement as structured

A tethered drone with a propulsion system must conduct all operations in compliance with the EU Drone Regulation, Chapter 9 a of the Danish Aviation Act, and this Executive Order, regardless of its take-off weight.

Original regulatory text
