Deeming of Class 1 Type Certification as Class 2

If a drone model has obtained a Class 1 Type Certification (the higher-tier safety certification), it is automatically legally recognized as also having a Class 2 Type Certification. You do not need to apply for a separate Class 2 certification.

Requirement as structured

An unmanned aircraft that has obtained a Class 1 Type Certification (第一種型式認証) under Article 132-16, Paragraph 2, Item 1 of the Act shall be deemed to have obtained a Class 2 Type Certification (第二種型式認証) under Item 2 of the same paragraph.

法第百三十二条の十六第二項第一号の第一種型式認証を受けた無人航空機は、同項第二号の第二種型式認証を受けたものとみなす。
