On request of the district administrative authority, the operator of an unmanned aircraft identified by its registration number must state who flew it as pilot at a given time, giving that person's name and address — immediately, or within two weeks of service of a written request. If the operator cannot give this information, the operator must name the person who can; that person is then obliged to provide it. Rights to refuse information do not apply against this request.

(5) Die Bezirksverwaltungsbehörde kann vom Halter oder von der Halterin eines nach dem Kennzeichen bestimmten Zivilluftfahrzeuges oder vom Betreiber oder von der Betreiberin eines nach der Registrierungsnummer bestimmten unbemannten Luftfahrzeuges Auskünfte darüber verlangen, wer dieses Luftfahrzeug oder unbemannte Luftfahrzeug zu einem bestimmten Zeitpunkt als verantwortlicher Pilot im Fluge verwendet hat. Diese Auskünfte haben den Namen und die Anschrift der betreffenden Person zu enthalten. Kann der Halter oder die Halterin bzw. der Betreiber oder die Betreiberin diese Auskunft nicht erteilen, so hat er die Person zu benennen, welche die Auskunft erteilen kann, diese trifft dann die Auskunftspflicht. Die Auskunft ist unverzüglich, im Falle einer schriftlichen Aufforderung binnen zwei Wochen nach Zustellung zu erteilen. (Verfassungsbestimmung) Gegenüber der Befugnis der Bezirksverwaltungsbehörde, derartige Auskünfte zu verlangen, treten Rechte auf Auskunftsverweigerung zurück.
