Requirement as structured

An applicant who has passed the written examination (学科試験) for a remote pilot competency certificate is exempt from the written examination for the same or lower class of certificate (First-Class pass exempts First or Second-Class; Second-Class pass exempts Second-Class) when applying within two years from the date of passing the written examination.

一の試験について学科試験に合格した者が前条第三項の学科試験合格証明書を添えて第二百三十六条の三十八第九項の規定により試験合格証明書の交付を申請したときは、当該試験(学科試験に合格した試験が一等無人航空機操縦士試験である場合にあつては、一等無人航空機操縦士試験又は二等無人航空機操縦士試験、学科試験に合格した試験が二等無人航空機操縦士試験である場合にあつては、二等無人航空機操縦士試験)の学科試験は行わない。ただし、当該試験の開始期日前に学科試験に合格した日から起算して二年を経過する場合は、この限りでない。
