Exemption of Practical Examination for Existing Certificate Holders

If you already hold a drone pilot license and apply for a different license class or to change your license limitations, you can request to skip practical exam subjects that you have already passed, provided the Ministry recognizes them as equivalent or higher in standard.

Requirement as structured

An applicant applying for a pilot competence certificate (技能証明) of a qualification other than the one they currently hold, or for a change in the limitation of their certificate, may, upon application, be exempted from the practical examination (実地試験) for subjects that are identical to those of the practical examination for their existing certificate and are recognized by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as equivalent or superior.

現に有する資格以外の資格の技能証明、技能証明の限定の変更を申請する者に対する実地試験にあつては、申請により、既得の技能証明に係る実地試験の科目と同一のものであつて国土交通大臣が同等又はそれ以上と認めたものについては、これを行わない。
