Revocation or Suspension of Pilot Certificate due to Addiction

If you become addicted to drugs or alcohol, your drone pilot certificate may be revoked. If you are expected to recover from the addiction within 6 months, your certificate will be suspended instead of revoked.

Requirement as structured

The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism may revoke a Remote Pilot Certificate (技能証明) or suspend it for a period of up to one year if the holder becomes addicted to drugs or alcohol, provided that the certificate shall be suspended rather than revoked if there is a prospect of recovering from the addiction within six months.

国土交通大臣は、技能証明を受けた者が法第百三十二条の五十三第三号に該当するときは、次に掲げる基準に従い、その技能証明を取り消し、又は一年以内において期間を定めてその技能証明の効力を停止することができる。 一　法第百三十二条の五十三第三号に該当することとなつた場合（次号の場合を除く。）には、技能証明を取り消すものとする。 二　六月以内に法第百三十二条の五十三第三号の中毒者に該当しないこととなる見込みがある場合には、技能証明の効力を停止するものとする。
