Object Dropping - Pilot Experience and Training

To get approval for dropping items from a drone, you must have at least 5 successful practice drops and be able to keep the drone stable. If you lack this experience, you must practice in a private, secured area.

Requirement as structured

JCAB requires pilots performing object drops to have at least 5 prior successful drop experiences and maintain stable control, or otherwise conduct training in a secured area closed to third parties.

５－８ 物件投下を行う場合は、次に掲げる基準に適合すること。...（２）無人航空機を飛行させる者について、次に掲げる基準に適合すること。 ・５回以上の物件投下の実績を有し、物件投下の前後で安定した機体の姿勢制御ができること。 ・必要な実績及び能力を有していない場合には、無人航空機を飛行させる者又はその関係者の管理下にあって第三者が立ち入らないよう措置された場所において、物件投下の訓練を実施すること。
