If you successfully complete a drone pilot training course at a government-registered training school, you can be exempted from taking all or part of the official written and practical licensing exams.

Requirement as structured

The Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism may exempt an applicant for a pilot competency certificate (技能証明) from all or part of the academic or practical examinations if the applicant has completed a training course conducted by a Registered Training Organization (登録講習機関).

国土交通大臣は、無人航空機を飛行させる者に対する講習（以下「無人航空機講習」という。）であつて第百三十二条の六十九の規定により国土交通大臣の登録を受けた者（以下「登録講習機関」という。）が行うものを修了した者について技能証明を行う場合には、第百三十二条の四十七の規定にかかわらず、国土交通省令で定めるところにより、学科試験又は実地試験の全部又は一部を行わないことができる。
