A specific category remote pilot's competence certificate and practical-skills certificate can be extended by the recognised entity or UAS operator only if the conditions of Cabinet Regulation No. 436 point 39 are met; under point 39.2, if the pilot's total flight time in the last year is less than six hours, or less than the higher number of hours set in the practical-skills certificate, the pilot must retake the practical skills test.

39. Šo noteikumu 38. punktā minētā kompetences sertifikāta un praktisko prasmju apguves apliecinājuma derīguma termiņu atzītā struktūra vai bezpilota gaisa kuģu sistēmu ekspluatants var pagarināt, ja tiek ievēroti šādi nosacījumi: 39.2. ja tālvadības pilota pēdējā gada laikā veikto lidojumu kopējais ilgums ir mazāks nekā sešas stundas, ja vien praktisko prasmju apguves apliecinājumā nav noteikts lielāks stundu skaits, tālvadības pilots atkārtoti kārto praktisko prasmju pārbaudi.
