SORA Spreadsheet Tool Submission
Verified from official sourcesVersion 2Effective -Verified 28 August 2026
In plain language
If you use the CAA's SORA spreadsheet helper tool, you must submit it in addition to your main SORA safety portfolio document, not as a replacement for it.
Requirement as structured
CAA NZ states that if an applicant uses the official JARUS SORA spreadsheet tool, it must be submitted alongside the main SORA safety portfolio document rather than replacing it.
Original regulatory text
At this time it is by request once we start on your application, so you don’t need to do it unless you're asked for it. Read more about JARUS SORA(external link) If you have been told by CAA that you need to complete a formal risk assessment with your application and you are going to use JARUS SORA, then this spreadsheet is designed to assist you through the JARUS SORA steps. The spreadsheet is an additional tool, it does not replace creating your JARUS SORA assessment document (sometimes called a SORA Safety Portfolio) and it should be provided alongside your SORA document(s) if you use it.
