Circumstances for RPA Test Flights

To qualify as a test flight (for example, to fly without registration), the flight must be for development, pre-delivery manufacturer testing, testing after fitting new equipment, or testing before or after repairs.

For section 11.01, the circumstances are when the RPA (the relevant aircraft) is operated for any of the following purposes, provided that the operation is relevant to the development, manufacture, repair or maintenance of the relevant aircraft...: (a) a test flight conducted by, or at the request of, the manufacturer... (b) a test flight, following the manufacture... before it is provided to the initial purchaser... (c) a test flight following the fitting of relevant equipment... (d) a test flight before or after repair or maintenance...
