UK Class Identification Label Requirement

In the UK, shop-bought open-category drones carry a UK class label (UK0 to UK6), not the EU C-class label. Drones you build yourself are outside this labelling regime.

Requirement as structured

UAS intended to be operated under the rules and conditions applicable to the 'open' category of UAS operations, other than privately built UAS, shall meet the requirements set out in Parts 1 to 6, 16 and 17 of the Annex to UK Regulation (EU) 2019/945, which include bearing the class identification label for the UK classes (UK0 to UK6, including class UK5 accessory kits).

Article 4 - Requirements Requirements Article 4 1 The products referred to in paragraph 1 of Article 2 shall meet the requirements set out in Parts 1 to 6, 16 and 17 of the Annex. 2 UAS ... shall comply with the relevant health and safety requirements set out in the Supply of Machinery (Safety) Regulations 2008 only in relation to risks other than those linked to the safety of the UA flight. 3 Any updates of software of the products that have already been made available on the market may be made only if such updates do not affect the compliance of the product.
