Prior notification for flights of aircraft over 900 g in active Annexe II airspace

If your aircraft weighs more than 900 g, every flight inside an active Annexe II airspace portion must be notified in advance. The notification procedure is set by a joint decision of the civil aviation and defence ministers and published on www.ecologie.gouv.fr. This is not a registration rule, and it does not apply inside an established aeromodelling activity location.

Requirement as structured

Inside the portions of airspace listed in Annexe II, 1° of the arrêté, while they are active within the meaning of Annexe II, 2°, all flights of aircraft with a mass greater than 900 grammes are subject to prior notification, under modalities defined by joint decision of the Minister for Civil Aviation and the Minister of Defence and published on www.ecologie.gouv.fr. This does not apply within an activity for which an activity location has been established (Article 5, 5°).

2° A l'intérieur des portions d'espace aérien mentionnées au 1° de l'annexe II lorsque celles-ci sont actives au sens du 2° de cette même annexe, tous les vols des aéronefs dont la masse est supérieure à 900 grammes sont soumis à notification préalable selon des modalités définies par décision conjointe du ministre chargé de l'aviation civile et du ministre de la défense et publiées sur le site www.ecologie.gouv.fr.
