Kaugpiloot peab pädevuse omandamiseks avatud kategooria A1- ja A3-alamkategoorias vastama komisjoni rakendusmääruse (EL) 2019/947 lisa A osa punkti UAS.OPEN.020 lõikes 4 sätestatud nõuetele. Nimetatud punktis kirjeldatud veebipõhine teooriaeksam korraldatakse Transpordiameti lennuohutuse järelevalve infosüsteemis.
