ConOps Operations Description and Volume

The ConOps must clearly show where you will fly, including the safety buffers on the ground and in the air, whether you are flying over people, and how much the drone flies itself versus how much you manually control it.

Requirement as structured

EASA accepts a ConOps detailing the types of operations, operational volume (including ground and air risk buffers), population density, airspace, and crew/automation level of involvement as a means of complying with Article 11.

Original regulatory text

Detailed description of the ConOps: the applicant should describe what types of operations the UAS operator intends to carry out. The detailed description should contain all the information needed to obtain a detailed understanding of how, where and under which limitations or conditions the operations shall be performed. The operational volume, including the ground and air risk buffers, needs to be clearly defined.
