Retention of Flight Documents on the Ground

During a flight, you must keep key flight documents (such as flight plans, technical logs, and mass/balance data) safely on the ground. If this is not possible, you must carry this information on board the aircraft in a fireproof container.

Requirement as structured

An operator must ensure that flight-relevant information is preserved on the ground for the duration of each flight, or carried in a fireproof container on board the UAM if ground preservation is impracticable.

Original regulatory text

An operator shall ensure that: (1) At least for the duration of each flight or series of flights; (i) Information relevant to the flight and appropriate for the type of operation is preserved on the ground; and (ii) The information is retained until it has been duplicated at the place at which it will be stored in accordance with CAR-OPS 3.1065; or, if this is impracticable, (iii) The same information is carried in a fireproof container in the UAM.
