If you are upgrading your RePL to a medium or large drone of a different category (such as moving from multirotor to aeroplane), you must complete training and pass exams for that new category, unless you already hold an equivalent manned aircraft pilot licence.

Requirement as structured

An applicant upgrading a RePL from a small RPA to a medium or large RPA of a different category must complete training and pass an examination in all Schedule 4 units of knowledge (except Common units), unless they hold an equivalent manned flight crew licence.

the aeronautical knowledge component of the RePL training course must require the applicant to complete training, and pass an examination, in all of the units of knowledge that are required for the relevant RPA under Schedule 4, except the Common units. (3) An applicant who holds 1 of the following: (a) a flight crew licence; (b) an overseas flight crew licence... is taken to satisfy the aeronautical knowledge component of the training mentioned in subsection (2).
