When upgrading your RePL to a medium or large drone of a different category, you must complete practical training, be assessed as competent in the new category's practical units, and pass a flight test with an examiner.

An applicant upgrading a RePL from a small RPA to a medium or large RPA of a different category must complete training and be assessed as competent in all Schedule 5 practical units (except Common units) and pass a flight test conducted by an examiner under Schedule 6.

The practical competency component of the RePL training course must require the applicant to complete training, and be assessed as competent, in all of the units of practical competency that are required for the relevant RPA under Schedule 5 (including in the manual mode of operation if the case so requires), except the Common units... (7) The relevant practical competency component of the RePL training course must require the applicant to pass the training course flight test for the relevant RPA, conducted by an examiner in accordance with the relevant flight test standards in Schedule 6.
