In der Schweiz dürfen Drohnen in der offenen Kategorie ab einem Alter von 12 Jahren und in der speziellen Kategorie ab 14 Jahren betrieben werden. Kinder unter 12 Jahren dürfen eine Drohne aber fliegen, wenn das unter direkter Aufsicht einer mindestens 16 Jahre alten Person geschieht, die die notwendigen Kompetenzen für diese Drohne besitzt (Schulung, Prüfung).
