Verified from official sourcesSection 4.1UAM 010, para. 4Version 1Effective -Verified 24 August 2026
In plain language
If you are a MACI member flying in an exempt zone, you are allowed to drop items from your drone. However, the item must weigh 100g or less, the drop area must be clear of uninvolved people, and you must have an observer watching the dropzone.
Requirement as structured
Within an EXEMPT geographical zone, MACI members exempt from the open category prohibition on dropping material must ensure the maximum weight of any single dropped item does not exceed 100g, the dropzone is secured from uninvolved persons, and an observer monitors the dropzone.
Original regulatory text
Within this zone, MACI members are exempt from the 'open' category requirement that unmanned aircraft do not drop any material, Reg (EU) 2019/947 Article 4, subject to the following limitations: 1. The maximum weight of any single item shall not exceed 100g. 2. The dropzone shall be secured from any uninvolved persons. 3. An observer shall monitor the dropzone.
