Registration validity for acceptable modifications

If you make minor, acceptable modifications to your registered drone, your existing registration remains valid for that drone in its modified state, but it cannot be used for any other aircraft.

Requirement as structured

If a registered RPA undergoes a modification that is not an unacceptable modification, the existing registration applies to the aircraft as modified and ceases to apply to any other aircraft.

If an unmanned aircraft to which this section applies is: (a) registered under Division 47.C.2 of CASR; and (b) subsequently modified; and (c) the modification is not an unacceptable modification; then the aircraft’s registration: (d) is taken to apply to the aircraft as modified; and (e) ceases to apply to any other aircraft.
