UAS Operation in Seibersdorf Restricted Area (LO R 1)

You may not fly a drone in the Seibersdorf restricted area unless it is an emergency/rescue mission or an IAEA drone of up to 25 kg flying no higher than 120 m. Drones under 250 g flying no higher than 30 m are exempt from restriction areas.

In the Seibersdorf flight restriction area (LO R 1; ground to 1,500 ft; permanent), entry, exit, transit and operation may only take place (a) for emergency (§ 145 LFG), ambulance or rescue flights or disaster operations, or (b) with unmanned aircraft up to 25 kg used by the IAEA for its tasks up to 120 m above ground. The general exemption for unmanned aircraft under 250 g flying up to 30 m above ground applies (separate rule, Anlage 2 Abschnitt A (2)).

1. Flugbeschränkungsgebiet Seibersdorf (LO R 1) (1) Ein-, Aus-, Durchflug und Betrieb sind im Flugbeschränkungsgebiet Seibersdorf nur zulässig a) bei Einsatzflügen (§ 145 LFG), bei Ambulanz- oder Rettungsflügen oder bei Katastropheneinsätzen oder b) mit unbemannten Luftfahrzeugen bis 25 kg im Einsatz der Internationalen Atomenergie-Organisation (IAEO) zur Erfüllung ihrer Aufgaben bis zu einer maximalen Flughöhe von 120 Meter über Grund.
