In plain language
If flying a tethered C2 drone, ensure the tether is shorter than 50 meters and meets the strength requirements for your aircraft type.
Requirement as structured
A tethered class C2 UA must have a tether tensile length of less than 50 m and a mechanical strength of at least 10 times the weight (for heavier-than-air) or 4 times the force (for lighter-than-air).
Original regulatory text
in the case of a tethered UA, have a tensile length of the tether that is less than 50 m and a mechanical strength that is no less than: (a) for heavier-than-air aircraft, 10 times the weight of the aerodyne at maximum mass; (b) for lighter-than-air aircraft, 4 times the force exerted by the combination of the maximum static thrust and the aerodynamic force of the maximum allowed wind speed in flight;
