A means of compliance is only officially accepted once the FAA has reviewed the submission and issued a formal notification of acceptance to the applicant.

Requirement as structured

The FAA will notify the applicant of acceptance once it determines the applicant has demonstrated compliance with paragraphs (a) and (b) of this section.

If the FAA determines the applicant has demonstrated compliance with paragraphs (a) and (b) of this section, it will notify the applicant that it has accepted the means of compliance.
