Crossing other roads (non-highways)

You can cross standard roads with any open category drone if you fly at least 20 meters high, keep the drone in sight, and ensure no moving vehicles are on the road. Hovering over the road is not allowed.

Requirement as structured

Transportstyrelsen's guidance (based on EASA guidance) states, as a recommendation for other roads, that drones in class C0–C4, and drones without a C class placed on the market before 1 January 2024 weighing 250 g or more, are permitted to cross the road but are not permitted to hover over it, and the 1:1 rule applies; the drone is to be flown at least 20 metres above the ground and obstacles (for example street lamps) and always kept within visual line of sight, and no moving vehicles may be on the road.
