Designation of Special VIP Facilities and Surrounding Restricted Areas

Temporary no-fly zones extending approximately 1,000 meters can be established around locations where the Emperor or the Prime Minister is staying. These restricted areas and their active periods will be officially announced in the Government Gazette.

Requirement as structured

The Commissioner General of the National Police Agency may designate facilities where the Emperor or the Prime Minister is temporarily located as 'Facilities where Special VIPs are Located (対象特別要人所在施設)', and must designate the premises and a surrounding area of approximately 1,000 meters as a restricted 'Surrounding Area of the Target Facility (対象施設周辺地域)' for a specified period.

警察庁長官は、天皇又は内閣総理大臣の所在する施設（第二条第一項第一号ロ及びホに掲げる対象施設を除く。）のうち、第一条の目的に照らしその施設に対する小型無人機等の飛行による危険を未然に防止することが必要であると認めるものを、対象特別要人所在施設として指定することができる。この場合において、警察庁長官は、併せて当該対象特別要人所在施設の敷地又は区域を指定するものとする。 ２　警察庁長官は、前項の規定により対象特別要人所在施設及び当該対象特別要人所在施設の敷地又は区域を指定するときは、当該対象特別要人所在施設の敷地又は区域及びその周囲おおむね千メートルの地域を、当該対象特別要人所在施設に係る対象施設周辺地域として指定するものとする。
