Prohibition of flight over public space in an agglomeration (open category and aeromodelling)

You must not fly over public space inside a built-up area (agglomeration) when flying in the open category or with an aeromodelling association. Two exceptions exist: flights carried out as part of the operator's professional activity, and places where the local prefect has authorised these operations.

In the open category, or within an aeromodelling association, the aircraft must not be operated over public space within an agglomeration, unless one of the two exceptions in Article 5, 1° applies (operator's professional activity, or a place where the territorially competent prefect authorises such operations).

1° L'aéronef n'évolue pas au-dessus de l'espace public en agglomération, sauf : i. Dans le cadre de l'activité professionnelle de son exploitant. En zone peuplée, de telles exploitations sont soumises aux dispositions du 1° de l'article 6 ; ou ii. En des lieux où le préfet territorialement compétent autorise les exploitations relevant de la catégorie ouverte ou de celles pratiquées au sein d'associations d'aéromodélisme.
