Class C1 UAS Overflight Assessment and Mitigation

Before flying a Class C1 drone, check the area (roads, paths, etc.) to ensure you won't fly over anyone. If someone unexpectedly walks under your drone, fly away from them or move to an empty area immediately to minimize the overflight time.

EASA accepts that for Class C1 UAS operations, the remote pilot assesses the operational area beforehand to reasonably expect no uninvolved persons will be overflown, and minimizes the duration of any unexpected overflight.

For UAS in class C1, before starting the UAS operation, the remote pilot should assess the area and should reasonably expect that no uninvolved person will be overflown. This evaluation should be made taking into account the configuration of the site of operation... In case of an unexpected overflight, the remote pilot should reduce as much as possible the duration of the overflight...
