FRIA Limitation for Unregistered or Non-Remote ID Foreign Drones

If your drone does not have Remote ID or is not registered in another country, you are restricted to flying it inside a designated FAA-Recognized Identification Area (FRIA). You must also register it on FAADroneZone to receive a document showing recognition of ownership.

NOTE: If your drone is not registered in a country outside the United States and/or does not have Remote ID, the only place you can operate your drone is within the geographic boundaries of an FAA-Recognized Identification Area (FRIA ).
